( Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili—Fratelli Maserati S.p.A.) was an Italian manufacturer of racing and sports cars established 1947 in San Lazzaro di Savena, Bologna, by the Maserati brothers, and closed down in 1967. The company name is usually written OSCA or Osca . History

The first FIAT models to receive the OSCA-derived engine were the 1500 coupé and cabriolet, which were first introduced in 1959. Maximum power was reduced from 125bhp to 80bhp, but that still meant a top speed of 105mph and a 0-60mph time of 10.6 seconds. Dunlop disc brakes were standard from 1960.

A 1481cc unit superseded the standard 1200 in 1963 with the new 1500 Spider good for 72bhp. Fiat bored out the S model's engine at the same time, with the 1600S now producing a heady 90bhp. 1959 Fiat OSCA 1500 S Coupe Specialized Vehicle Solutions

In July 1960 the name was changed to "Fiat 1500 S Cabriolet," and it now had disc brakes front and rear. About 1000 of the OSCA-engined 1500/1500 S models were built. Pininfarina assembled the 1500S and 1600S versions through the model's run, but the cars were always badged as Fiats.

At first glance, Paul Smith's 1959 Fiat 1500 OSCA looks a little like a Fiat 124 Spider, the Italian roadster familiar to sports car enthusiasts. But wait a minute. The Fiat 124 didn't arrive until 1967, nearly a decade after the model year of this particular car. If this isn't a mass-produced 124, what exactly is it?
